GET THE MESSAGE Publicity provides trusted public and media relations for a wide spectrum of art genres (including music, visual and dance), cultural organizations and artists in Toronto, Ontario and across Canada - specializing in festival, event and tour publicity.

GET THE MESSAGE Publicity's senior publicist and president, Laurie Lockhart, has been involved in the Canadian entertainment industry for more than 14 years.

Significantly, Laurie holds a Certificate in Public Relations from Ryerson University in Toronto (2010). 

Prior to founding the publicity company, Laurie earned graduate status in the Recording Arts Management program at Harris Institute for the Arts, Toronto (1998).

She was then president of her own management company for musical artists, Starlette Management - managing two indie bands; Speed Orchid and Electrashine.

Laurie then took an internship and also worked at Attic Records (Attic Music Group) in marketing and publicity and then worked for two years as an extra in feature film and television productions in Toronto.

Subsequently, Laurie happily worked for five years as an entertainment / music publicist along side the unstoppable veteran publicist Richard Flohil at Richard Flohil & Associates PR agency in Toronto - which included, but was not limited to, media relations, national tour publicity, CD release and event PR, major music festival PR, media accreditation, concert promotion and assistant editing of Applaud! Magazine.
